My research explores successive permutations of form and surface that are captured in a moment of flux. Each piece is a crystallization of an unresolved state of ongoing transformation, and a determination of the magnitude, axes, polarity, and orientation of pressures and the direct and indirect consequences of these compound effects upon the surface. The operations I am fascinated by are the dynamic phases of opening or closing, multiplying or dividing, folding, dissolving, blooming. The types of color, pattern, and surface I pursue in my pieces attempt to express the variably curious, pleasurable, and strange nature of change and growth.
